All summit attendees are invited to be our guests at the Annual Roman Gabriel Legends and Leaders Celebration from 5 to 8 pm, January 16, 2025 at Executive Next Practices Institute at the Beall Applied Innovation Center on the campus of the University of California at Irvine (the same location as the summit). NFL alumni and other sports and entertainment celebrities will gather with business and education leaders. NFL alumni slated to attend include: Super Bowl and Hall of Fame coach Dick Vermeil, Vince Ferragamo, Mike Lansford, Fred Dryer, Ron Brown, Leroy Irvin, Rosey Grier, Paul McDonald, and Bruce Allen. The night will include a special tribute to the late Roman Gabriel Jr. presented by his son, Roman Gabriel III, who is the CEO of the Sold Out Youth Foundation charity, which is committed to solving our country’s current youth drug, alcohol and mental health crisis.

Your Hosts
Henry DeVries, MBA, is a business development columnist and the CEO of Indie Books International, an Oceanside, California company he cofounded in 2014 to work with small to midsized agency owners and marketing consultants who want to attract high-paying clients by marketing with a book and speech. In his writing and speaking he shares in humorous ways many pragmatic strategies that can double sales and achieve marketing returns of 400 percent to 2,000 percent.
Previously he served as assistant dean of continuing education for UC San Diego. Prior to that he helped double revenues as president of an award-winning Ad Age 500 advertising agency and was a vice president that doubled awareness for a $5 billion insurance company. Since 2010, he has ghostwritten, coauthored, and published more than 300 business books, including his McGraw-Hill bestseller How to Close a Deal like Warren Buffett.
In 1999 he founded the New Client Marketing Institute to study how agencies and consultants attract right-fit clients. He is the author of seventeenth books that share his research findings. He earned his bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego and his MBA from San Diego State University and has completed two certificate programs at the Harvard Business School.
Devin DeVries is Indie Books’ publishing project quarterback. She is responsible for shepherding each book through all the stages of the publishing process and ensuring each author walks away with a book they can be proud of. In addition, she puts her over eight years of web marketing and e-commerce experience, working for some of the top internet retailers such as ProFlowers and zulily, to use in helping authors and speakers promote their books through websites and social media.
