SAN DIEGO (July 3, 2000) – Henry DeVries/Communications has partnered with the local chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) to create the Professor Glen Broom/PRSA Endowed Scholarship at SDSU.

Honoring Dr. Glen Broom for his active research and participation in the public relations field for the past three decades, the scholarship will target motivated students who want to study public relations.

“In addition to being the nation’s leading public relations professor and author, Dr. Broom is a mentor and friend to many of the public relations professionals in San Diego,” says DeVries.

Beginning in September of 2000, the scholarship will be awarded annually to a student majoring in communications. The student must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above, registered for at least 12 units per semester and plan a career in public relations.

With initial funds provided by Henry DeVries/Communications and supplemented by PRSA, the scholarship will become an endowed fund in time for the 2005-2006 school year.
